Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Temp to Perm Role

Location: Plymouth

Company Overview: The Supply Register is a managed service provider working with multiple academy trusts in Devon and Cornwall. We are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support our team.

Position Overview: As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting teachers in delivering high-quality education and supporting the development of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to promote a culture of continuous improvement and student success.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in Lesson Delivery: Support classroom teachers in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons across various subjects and age groups.
  2. Small Group Instruction: Lead small group activities, providing additional support to students who may require extra assistance or extension activities.
  3. Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Assist in assessing students' progress, maintaining accurate records, and providing feedback to teachers to aid in the development of individualized learning plans.
  4. Behavior Management: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment by implementing behavior management strategies and providing pastoral support to students as needed.
  5. Resource Development: Contribute to the development of teaching resources, including lesson plans, worksheets, and educational materials, tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
  6. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external stakeholders to promote a culture of continuous improvement and student success.
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Teaching and Learning Support or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
  2. Proven experience working in a classroom setting, preferably as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA (desirable but not essential).
  3. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents/carers.
  4. Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards supporting the diverse needs of students and the school community.
  5. An understanding of relevant safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting the welfare of children and young people.
