Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to spearhead our climate resilience and sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and mentor direct reports of specialists in net zero and climate change adaptation
  • Develop and implement programs to enhance the organization's capacity in net zero and climate change adaptation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform future work and research for enterprise-wide climate risk management
  • Provide expertise in climate risk assessments and develop adaptive strategies to manage climate risks
  • Lead the development and implementation of decarbonisation programs across high-impact projects

You will be integral in driving the team that will be working closely with our planning team to lead the implementation of best-practice climate change adaptation and decarbonisation strategies.

Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, sustainability or engineering
  • Proven experience in net zero, climate change adaptation or sustainability
  • Strong background in integrating climate and environmental considerations into asset and system planning processes
  • Experience working on large-scale environmental programs or projects with a focus on decarbonisation and/or climate resilience
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and departments, with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience with risk assessments, especially in relation to climate change and environmental impacts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to prioritize projects based on environmental risk
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to climate change and net-zero targets

A deep understanding of climate change risks and net-zero emission strategies applicable to water and wastewater systems is essential.
