About the Role

This is a full-time, permanent position where you'll make a real impact in the lives of older people, couples, and families affected by elder abuse – with a strong focus on preventing financial exploitation.

In this role, every day is different. You'll empower clients with practical strategies, connect them to the right supports, and work alongside legal, financial, health, and community services to ensure older people feel safe, heard, and supported.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver responsive case management, risk assessments, and safety planning for clients
  • Support older people to navigate financial challenges and prevent financial abuse
  • Work collaboratively with community, health, legal, and financial partners to achieve positive outcomes
  • Facilitate referrals, case conferences, and coordinated care planning
  • Contribute to community education sessions that build awareness and prevention strategies
  • Provide empathetic, strengths-based, and trauma-informed support at all times
What We're Looking For

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or a related field
  • Experience in case management with the ability to handle complex client needs
  • Knowledge of elder abuse, domestic and family violence, and issues affecting older Australians
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to de-escalate conflict and build trust
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage caseloads and prioritise effectively
  • Understanding of financial counselling and issues impacting older people
  • Experience facilitating community education and outreach activities
