The Project

The project is a Defence sector project located in regional Western Australia. The project is more than 2 years in duration, involving significant construction upgrades to airfield asphalt pavements and related infrastructure assets.

Your Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer - Asphalt with airfield pavements, asphalt contracting, and civil construction background, to join our multi-disciplinary project team. The role is an excellent opportunity for a self-driven and ambitious professional to enable the delivery of a major business initiative within a complex project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the project team to deliver the project on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate and manage the work of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role, specifically involving asphalt contracting, roads, and pavement construction.
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering.
  • Proven commitment to promoting safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
  • Collaborative team attitude with frontline operational coordination experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in developing strong relationships with subcontractor and supplier partners.
  • High-level understanding of resourcing, technical, scheduling, and contract management to achieve and exceed safety, quality, time, and cost objectives.
  • Extensive experience in site-based construction roles, client interface, and project management systems.
  • Experience with Defence processes and project delivery will be highly regarded.
  • Able to meet Department of Defence security clearance requirements (DCAC).
