High Voltage Electrical Engineer Position Overview

About the Role

This is a pivotal leadership position responsible for the safe and compliant operation of high voltage (HV) electrical infrastructure across site.

The successful candidate will work closely with planning and maintenance teams to ensure maximum availability, reliability, and performance of critical electrical assets.

The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within HV environments, with strong expertise in HV transmission and distribution networks, including fault rectification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise installation, maintenance, and testing of electrical equipment
  • Provide technical leadership and support to internal teams and stakeholders
  • Act as the appointed Statutory Electrical Supervisor/Electrical Nominee as required
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies for HV assets
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical standards and legislative requirements
Requirements and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Over 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within HV environments
  • Strong expertise in HV transmission and distribution networks, including fault rectification
  • Proficiency in PLC, Citect, and field instrumentation
  • Sound knowledge of electrical standards, codes, and safety legislation
Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate will be confident working autonomously and leading maintenance teams in a regulated environment.

They will have excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills, and hold tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, along with relevant certifications such as First Aid, LVR/CPR, and S26 training.
