Procurement Manager Opportunity

About the Role:

The Procurement Manager will establish and lead a new central procurement function for the organization. This key role involves contributing to the development and implementation of best practice procurement strategies, policies, processes, and procedures to enhance operational performance.

Responsibilities include forecasting market trends, managing purchasing policies and procedures, overseeing risk, and providing insights to drive business improvements and cost savings. A critical component of this position is building and maintaining effective supplier relationships while proactively mitigating potential changes in buyer-supplier dynamics.

  • Establish a centralized procurement function from scratch in a growth-oriented environment.
  • Develop and implement best practice procurement strategies, policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Forecast price and market trends, manage purchasing policies and procedures, and oversee risk.
  • Provide insights to drive business improvements and cost savings.
  • Build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
  • Proactively mitigate potential changes in buyer-supplier dynamics.

About You:

As a degree-qualified mid-career procurement leader, you possess proven experience in setting up central procurement functions in growth-oriented environments. Ideally, you have exposure to the construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, and/or transport sectors. You are comfortable taking a hands-on approach in an operational environment and are commercially minded with a focus on outcomes. Your enthusiasm for applying your skills in Victoria's fast-growing circular economy makes you an ideal candidate for this role.
