About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead our capital portfolio and drive world-class delivery of our projects. As a key member of our team, you will provide leadership and functional expertise to drive the success of our capital portfolio and deliver governance and technical stewardship across our sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Leadership: Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainability.
  • Portfolio Performance Management: Monitor and manage portfolio performance, identify critical activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to deliver the capital portfolio in line with safety standards, requirements, budget, and scope.
  • Leadership and Governance: Provide leadership to teams throughout the project lifecycle, focused on the governance and execution of construction strategies, standards/frameworks, and integration and interface management.
  • Asset Integrity Management: Manage Asset Integrity for our sites' assets and ensure compliance to Engineering Standards for all newly procured plant and equipment.
  • Management of Change: Govern the Management of Change process for all modifications and improvements to infrastructure and equipment.
  • Document Management: Ensure all documents and drawings are managed in accordance with the blueprint standard.
  • Cost Management: Manage costs according to the budget and be accountable for regular forecasting and rectifying variances.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess risks, make risk-informed decisions, use BHP's risk management framework, and build a risk-aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
  • Culture and Communication: Lead the creation of an environment in which lessons learned and external best practices are part of the operational processes and identify capital efficiency initiatives and productivity improvements.
Requirements
  • Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering-related discipline.
  • Project Management Experience: Significant Project Management experience, preferably via delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary investments and management of large teams.
  • Safety Leadership: Advanced safety leadership expertise with proven commitment to safety and sustainability.
  • Commercial Qualifications: Degree qualified in STEM, with supplementary MBA or similar commercial qualifications preferred but not essential.
  • Leadership Skills: Lead by example, confidence, resilience, and determination to hold yourself and others accountable.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
