Logistics and Supply Chain Management Expert

The Logistics and Supply Chain Manager will oversee the logistics and customs specialists, coordinating production material movements from suppliers in Australia and globally, as well as vehicle movement from European entities to Australia.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and monitoring vehicle and parts movements from international and local sources, including sea, air, and road freight;
  • Coordinating ad-hoc vehicle or parts movements and export shipments with limited notice, including requests for quotes and purchase requisitions;
  • Monitoring delivery documentation requirements for receipt into local 3PL, managing local parts delivery schedules, and receipting;
  • Managing and monitoring shipments through customs and quarantine;
  • International import certificates and delivery verification certifications;
  • Vehicle delivery performance reporting;
  • Conducting supplier performance reviews and monitoring KPIs to ensure 3PL activities are achieved within assigned budgets;
  • Identifying and providing improvement opportunities to the supply chain to contribute to the best total cost of ownership;
  • Managing minor commercial tasks in support of contracts, including creation of purchase requisitions, approving invoices, and developing contract change proposals;
  • Material management assistance and change notice tracking and input as required;
  • Transport budget forecasting in support of financial and commercial requirements;
  • Addressing export issues in existing programs and new business opportunities while providing assistance with investigations into suspected breaches of export controls regulations.

The experience and skillset best suited for this role includes:

  • Qualifications in logistics and supply chain or relevant disciplines;
  • Experience in logistics, transport, shipping, and/or management of freight movements in both hands-on and supervisory roles;
  • Knowledge and experience of Australian Export Controls laws associated with Defence Strategic Goods List materials;
  • Experience in classifying products under the ITAR and EAR;
  • Experience with Customs Import and Export requirements and documentation;
  • Ability to travel interstate when required; and
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
