Aboriginal Health Practitioner

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal Australians.

We are seeking an experienced and culturally aware Aboriginal Health Practitioner to join our team at Acacia Prison. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will work closely with our Registered Nurses to assess the health needs of Aboriginal patients and develop effective healthcare plans.

  1. Key Responsibilities:

  2. Assess the health needs of Aboriginal patients and develop comprehensive healthcare plans under the supervision of our Registered Nurses.

  3. Cross-refer patients to other health professionals and services to ensure holistic care.

  4. Respond to medical emergencies and administer medications as required.

  5. Work collaboratively with our healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.

Requirements:

  • AHPRA Registration as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner or working towards registration.

  • Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or equivalent experience in primary health care settings.

  • High-level personal integrity and ethical behavior.
