Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Purchasing Support Officer, where you will play a vital role in supporting the Procurement team with their daily operations. The successful candidate will have experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within a government or large organization.

The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in using Ellipse or similar systems for data review and purchase order creation. Additionally, they will be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with measurable KPIs and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review data in Ellipse and create purchase orders
  • Issue works/services tenders, with training provided
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative and departmental procurement requirements
  • Provide administrative support to the Procurement team as needed
  • Promote procurement as a key business function to departmental staff
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with KPIs and performance monitoring
  • Handle enquiries in the absence of senior staff, demonstrating professionalism and initiative
About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality administrative support to the Procurement team, ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day activities. You will work closely with the team to deliver projects and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times.

Requirements
  • Experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within a government or large organization
  • Proficiency in using Ellipse or similar systems for data review and purchase order creation
  • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail in managing procurement documentation
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with measurable KPIs
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to demonstrate initiative when supporting senior staff
