Payroll Officer
About the Job:The successful candidate will have responsibility for managing payroll for approximately 180 employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments. This role requires strong governance practices and compliance with all relevant legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare monthly pay runs with emphasis on governance and accuracy.
- Calculate new starters and termination pays in accordance with policy.
- Manage leave requests and provide information to employees/managers about payroll matters.
- Reconcile payroll, superannuation payments, bonuses, and authorised deductions.
- Process year-end ATO and state revenue requirements.
- Manage workers compensation insurance compliance across multiple states.
- Ensure employee expense claims are accurately recorded and in line with internal policies.
- Provide end-of-month reporting and accounting entries into Netsuite.
- Perform variance analysis and assist with year-end reporting.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Payroll Administration.
- Solid understanding of Australian employment legislative and statutory requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
- Proven ethics and ability to handle confidential documents.
- Able to build relationships with various staff levels and effectively liaise with them.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of Commonwealth and State-based payroll legislation.
- Pro-active approach with a positive team mindset.
- Experience with Dayforce and Netsuite is desirable but not essential.
