About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Electrician - Power Generation Specialist to join our team at Cummins. As a key member of our field service team, you will be responsible for providing expert technical support and maintenance services to our industrial customers in VIC and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance activities on power generation products in the field, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues with Cummins and other manufacturers' generators, using your expertise to resolve problems quickly and effectively.
  • Installation and Commissioning: Install and commission new gensets, transfer switches, and Digital Master Controllers (DMCs), ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Maintain and repair switchgear, battery systems, and other electrical equipment, using your knowledge of internal combustion engines and electrical systems.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Hold a relevant and current VIC electrical trade qualification and a full unrestricted A-Grade Electrical licence in VIC.
  • Experience: Possess experience in a field service role or similar, with a strong understanding of mechanical aptitude and internal combustion engines.
  • Skills: Proven ability to perform detailed fault finding on complex control systems, with strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and accuracy.
  • Advantages: Understanding of HV systems and operations, Cummins PCC control systems, and industrial communication protocols and PLCs is advantageous but not necessary.
