About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Equipment Technician to join our team at William Adams, a leading Caterpillar Dealer with a rich history of over 90 years.

This is a full-time permanent position, working a 5 x 2 (Monday - Friday) roster. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills while ensuring value for money for our customers.

Your typical day will include:

  • Onsite technical troubleshooting and fault finding, including diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on Cat equipment and their components;
  • Providing outstanding customer service to our loyal customers;
  • Compiling and completing accurate reporting;
  • Working autonomously to manage your time and maximize efficiency;
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment;
  • Liaising with our internal service and parts department;
  • Maintaining a William Adams service vehicle.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have the following skills, experience, and attributes:

  • Be a qualified Diesel Technician with extensive experience with Caterpillar machines (or similar);
  • Be able to service customers and their equipment to a very high standard;
  • Have advanced mechanical diagnostic skills with Cat computer diagnostics knowledge (great to have);
  • A proactive and positive attitude, with a strong work ethic;
  • A strong commitment to safety, health & environment procedures;
  • Hold a current Drivers and Light Rigid Licence (heavy vehicle licence is also highly regarded);
  • Proven ability to be self-motivated and to work unsupervised.
