We are seeking talented individuals who want to access world-class facilities and staff. Our PhD Top-Up Scholarships provide enhanced opportunities in science and engineering for those enrolling in a PhD at Australian tertiary institutions.

Collaborating with us will give your research the edge, offering you access to our leading scientists, engineers and mentors, and first-hand experience in an environment where innovative research really is changing the world for the better.

The Sustainability Pathways Program aims to deliver solutions that support the resilient and sustainable management of natural resources, fundamental to Australia's development and prosperity.

This PhD research delves into innovative strategies that businesses can adopt to generate economic value while simultaneously delivering environmental and social benefits.

It explores how circular economy principles can be effectively integrated into various industries, identifying key opportunities and challenges in the transition to a more sustainable business framework.

To achieve this goal, we require:

  • A relevant honours degree or equivalent;
  • Admission to an Australian University as a PhD student;
  • An appropriate visa to study in Australia (if international);
  • Not to have completed more than one year (FTE) of a PhD on commencing at CSIRO;
  • Hold a primary scholarship; for example, a Research Training Program (RTP) scholarship or other primary scholarship of similar value;
  • Not to be in receipt of any other Top-Up Scholarship;
  • A university supervisor who is willing and able to supervise you; and
  • Be available to commence with CSIRO by 30 June 2025.

The successful applicant will receive a Top-Up Scholarship of $10,000 per annum, plus a learning and development budget of $5,000 over the term of the studentship.
