Chef/Cook/Restaurant Manager

Job Summary:

Esperance By The Sea Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef/Cook/Restaurant Manager to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement menus that showcase our culinary expertise and meet the needs of our customers.
  • Lead and manage a team of cooks and kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective kitchen operations.
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to plan and execute special events and functions.
  • Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and labor expenses to ensure profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of kitchen staff.
  • Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, supplies, and facilities to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure that all customer inquiries and complaints are handled promptly and professionally.

Requirements:

  • Relevant AQF Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing a team of cooks and kitchen staff.
  • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
