This is a key project engineer position in Sydney, Australia.
The successful candidate will be working on a major capital project to expand domestic production capabilities for coated steel products.
They will be responsible for supporting end-to-end SMP project delivery and leading design coordination, procurement and cost management for assigned packages.
- Supporting end-to-end SMP project delivery for a major manufacturing line installation
- Leading design coordination, procurement and cost management for assigned packages
- Contributing to HAZOP, CHAIR and safety-in-design workshops
- Ensuring alignment between engineering, construction and commissioning teams
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience in heavy industrial projects and strong knowledge of Australian engineering standards, safety practices and risk management.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Delivery: Support the delivery of structural, mechanical and piping (SMP) engineering packages across the project lifecycle.
Design Coordination: Lead the design coordination process for assigned packages, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.
Cost Management: Manage costs associated with assigned packages, developing and implementing strategies to optimize expenditure.
HAZOP Workshops: Contribute to HAZOP, CHAIR and safety-in-design workshops to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
Team Alignment: Ensure effective alignment between engineering, construction and commissioning teams to deliver high-quality results.
About YouAs a successful candidate, you will have:
- A degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- At least 5 years' experience in heavy industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of Australian engineering standards, safety practices and risk management.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
