Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Philanthropy Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for securing significant philanthropic support from high-net-worth individuals based in Australia, through the strategic management of a major gift pipeline in alignment with our fundraising and engagement goals.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders and donors, as well as experience in major gift fundraising and project management. They will be able to analyze and report on prospects and donor trends, making recommendations for continuous improvement of program strategy and processes.

This is a full-time position that requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, including experience writing briefing documentation for senior management. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and results-driven individual who is passionate about philanthropy and committed to excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a major gift pipeline to deliver on our philanthropic income targets.
  • Identify opportunities for alignment and collaboration between other fundraising and engagement activities across the organization.
  • Develop, implement and review engagement strategies and plans, in consultation with the team members, to ensure targets are met.
  • Analyze and report on prospects and donor trends, making recommendations for continuous improvement of program strategy and processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification and/or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of university advancement, including major gifts.
  • Experience in major gift fundraising and project management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including experience writing briefing documentation for senior management.
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of and competence in Microsoft Office and database software.
