Aboriginal Cultural Advisor Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Aboriginal Cultural Advisor to join our team in unlocking every child's potential. Our goal is to provide world-leading public education, prioritizing learning and wellbeing, in partnership with learners, students, parents, and the wider community.

The Student Support Services team offers high-quality and culturally responsive services within schools and preschools to meet the diverse needs of all children. As an Aboriginal Cultural Advisor (ACA), you will collaborate with a team to ensure students are at the center of designing and delivering flexible service approaches.

You will engage with local Aboriginal community members in South Australia to support culturally responsive service provision and build cultural capability within Student Support Services. This role requires your expertise, cultural knowledge, and life experience as an Aboriginal person.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the Development of Culturally Responsive Services
  • Building Cultural Capability within Student Support Services
  • Engaging with Local Aboriginal Community Members

For this position, we require relevant experience in service delivery for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Certificate IV or higher education qualification in education, human or community services, or equivalent experience

To be successful in this role, you must undergo mandatory Department for Human Services working with children check and complete the Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care Facilitator Lead extended course.
