Vocational Bible College (VBC) is a diverse, interdenominational organization dedicated to empowering 'everyday' Christian leaders and disciple-makers for mainstream evangelical churches across Australia. Since its inception in 2015, VBC has expanded its training initiatives from Sydney to various locations including Wagga Wagga, Perth, Illawarra, and online platforms.
Role Overview
Migrant Trainer & Assessor
The primary focus of this position is to engage with local migrant church leaders and their communities, fostering relationships and partnerships that enhance the learning experience for everyday Christians. This role involves cultivating and reinforcing connections with mentors from various partner churches.
Key Responsibilities
- Establishing new partnerships by reaching out to potential church collaborators.
- Enhancing existing relationships through proactive engagement with current partners.
- Delivering biblical teachings in accordance with VBC's curriculum and doctrinal beliefs.
- Maintaining comprehensive training documentation.
- Collaborating with workplace mentors to ensure alignment between classroom instruction and practical training.
- Regularly reviewing and refining VBC courses, participating in curriculum evaluation processes, and creating educational content.
- Providing pastoral support to learners, fostering a nurturing environment while upholding confidentiality.
- Promoting VBC's mission to various churches and stakeholders, while reporting to the Principal.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a committed Christian and church member, fully aligned with VBC's mission, vision, and doctrinal principles. Key qualifications include:
- Evangelistic mindset and alignment with VBC's ministry philosophy.
- Advanced Diploma in Christian Ministry & Theology or equivalent qualifications.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent.
- Strong commitment to the authority of Scripture.
- Demonstrated experience in training, teaching, and organizational skills.
- Prior leadership experience within a church setting.
- Ability to connect with individuals from migrant backgrounds in Australia.
- Well-organized and confident in initiating contacts, following up, and planning travel itineraries.
- Proficiency in using technology for teaching and presentations.
- Understanding of contemporary Christian ministry practices among everyday Christians.
- Experience in working with diverse communities.
Additional Information
This role offers a flexible commitment of 1-2 days per week, with potential for increased hours in the future. It is a newly established position that allows for autonomy and responsibility. A supportive environment is provided, including at least one monthly meeting (online or in person) with the Principal.
