Role Overview
Migrant Trainer & Assessor
The primary objective of this position is to engage with local migrant church leaders and their congregations, fostering relationships and partnerships that enhance the learning experience for everyday Christians. This role involves the development and reinforcement of networked connections with mentors from various partner churches.
Key Responsibilities
- Establishing connections by reaching out to potential partner churches to create new training collaborations.
- Enhancing existing partnerships through proactive relationship-building with current collaborators.
- Delivering biblical teachings as outlined in VBC courses, adhering to VBC's doctrinal principles.
- Maintaining comprehensive training records and documentation.
- Collaborating with workplace mentors to ensure alignment between classroom and practical training.
- Engaging in course review processes and contributing to the development of educational content.
- Providing pastoral support to learners, fostering a nurturing environment while upholding confidentiality.
- Promoting VBC within church communities and reporting progress to the Principal.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a committed Christian and church member, fully aligned with VBC's Mission, Vision, and doctrinal beliefs. Key qualifications include:
- Evangelistic mindset and agreement with VBC's ministry philosophy.
- Advanced Diploma in Christian Ministry & Theology or equivalent qualifications.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent.
- Strong commitment to the Scriptures as the authoritative word of God.
- Demonstrated experience in training, assessment, teaching, and organizational skills.
- Prior leadership experience within a church setting.
- Ability to connect with individuals from diverse migrant backgrounds in Australia.
- Well-organized and confident in initiating contacts, following up, and planning travel itineraries.
- Proficient in using electronic tools beneficial for teaching and presentations.
- Understanding of contemporary Christian ministry practices among everyday Christians.
- Experience in working with and ministering to everyday individuals.
Additional Information
This role offers a travel and communications allowance and is structured for 1-2 days per week, with potential for increased hours in the future. It is a newly created position that allows for responsible and autonomous work, supported by at least one monthly meeting (online or in person) with the Principal.
