The Assistant City Manager plays a vital role in overseeing the operations of assigned city departments, providing high-level support and guidance to ensure seamless execution of city functions.

This position is responsible for implementing City Council goals and objectives, coordinating activities with other departments and external agencies, and serving as Acting City Manager in the City Manager's absence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, or a related field.
  • Broad knowledge and experience related to city government operations and applicable county, state, or federal laws, plus five (5) years of increasingly responsible management and administrative experience, preferably in a governmental organization.

This department operates under a council-city manager form of government, serving the community with 232 full-time employees. The Assistant City Manager works closely with other departments to achieve common goals and objectives.
