About the Opportunity

A dynamic chance for transactional lawyers with a banking or corporate background to transition into restructuring, leveraging their expertise in complex matters.

As a member of Ashurst's Restructuring and Special Situations Group, you'll be part of a market-leading team that has been at the forefront of developments in Australian debt and corporate restructurings. The ideal candidate will have technical experience in sophisticated corporate/banking transactions, but prior restructuring experience is not required.

About You

  • Prior transactional experience working on complex matters with a banking or corporate background and a desire to move into restructuring.
  • Taking day-to-day responsibility for more straightforward matters while actively progressing complex cases with close partner support.
  • Demonstrating strong drafting skills.
  • Effectively communicating with both your team and clients, understanding their needs and finding ways to meet them.
  • Understanding how our business, competitors, and clients are evolving, and collaborating with the business development team to leverage this knowledge for new business opportunities.
