Job Title: Principal Workplace Health and Safety Advisor

DFP Recruitment is seeking an experienced Principal Workplace Health and Safety Advisor to join their team in Cairns. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on WHS activities and environmental technical matters related to the building, construction, and maintenance industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee the WHS management and environmental systems for the region to ensure compliance and risk management.
  2. Provide WHS and environmental advice to senior management and regional staff based on existing legislation, industry standards, and internal policies.
  3. Support the region in implementing actions to ensure effective and compliant environmental, safety, and health processes.
  4. Investigate incidents, hazards, and workplace accidents, conduct audits, and identify hazards and risks to formulate preventative actions.
  5. Develop and educate staff on new technologies in WHS and environment through formal training and regular communication.
Requirements:
  1. Extensive experience in WHS in the construction industry.
  2. Construction industry-related trade qualification (highly desirable).
  3. Current Workplace Health & Safety General Safety Induction Card.
  4. Ability to commit to travel (overnight stays of up to 4 nights or as negotiated).
  5. Current Driver's License.
