This is a critical role at our school. The successful applicant will be appointed to a classification with eligibility for progression to a higher level once specific criteria have been met.

About the Role:

  • We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to join our team as a Facilities Maintenance Coordinator. In this key position, you will be responsible for maintaining the school's grounds, ovals, lawns, and gardens. You will also ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and assist with coordinating the removal and/or disposal of rubbish as required.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • A current Working with Children Clearance issued by Blue Card Services is mandatory. Additionally, appointees must possess a Certificate III qualification or higher relevant to the tasks outlined from a recognised institution under the Australian Qualification Framework or agreed equivalent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regular mowing, watering and soil maintenance of school ovals
  • Lawn and garden maintenance, including regular weeding and the use of appropriate insecticides and fertilisers where necessary
  • Plant, water and care for trees, shrubs, gardens
  • Undertake general maintenance of grounds care equipment such as mowers, brush cutters, tractors
  • Ensure compliance with WHS requirements including maintenance of a safe work environment
  • Assist with coordinating the removal and/or disposal of rubbish as required
  • Attend to/or arrange repairs and maintenance within the school
