Numeracy Educator Position

Our secondary school is seeking an experienced and passionate numeracy specialist to join our team. As a numeracy educator, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.

The successful applicant will have a strong background in teaching literacy and numeracy skills, with experience in responding to student learning needs. You will also possess the ability to plan and implement high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluate the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.

In addition, you will be expected to monitor and assess student learning, using data to inform your teaching practice and provide feedback on student learning growth and achievement to students and parents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Plan and implement high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn.
  • Monitor and assess student learning, using data to inform teaching practice.
  • Provide feedback on student learning growth and achievement to students and parents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching practices.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
  2. Demonstrated experience in responding to student learning needs.
  3. Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
  4. Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning, and using data to inform teaching practice.
  5. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, and experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader school community.
