Job Overview:
The Numeracy Specialist is a highly skilled and experienced educator responsible for improving numeracy skills and knowledge across the school. This role involves leading and managing the implementation of whole-school improvement initiatives related to the school strategic plan and priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing the implementation of evidence-based numeracy strategies and programs;
- Developing and delivering professional development opportunities for teachers to improve their numeracy teaching practices;
- Mentoring and coaching teachers to enhance their numeracy leadership capabilities;
- Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement curriculum planning and delivery strategies that promote numeracy learning;
- Leading and managing the development and implementation of assessment and reporting policies and practices related to numeracy;
- Providing expert advice on numeracy-related matters to teachers, school leaders, and other stakeholders;
- Staying up-to-date with research and best practices in numeracy education to inform school-wide initiatives;
- Building relationships with community organizations and partners to access resources and expertise that support numeracy education;
