Job Opportunity

The Executive Director plays a pivotal role in driving the strategic and operational agenda of National and State Libraries Australasia. This involves spearheading a diverse portfolio of work with member libraries, encompassing:

  • Prominent initiatives

  • Influential advocacy efforts

  • Advisory committees

This position necessitates demonstrated leadership capabilities, high-level strategic thinking, exceptional stakeholder management skills, budget acumen, and extensive knowledge of the library sector.

The Executive Director works closely with CEOs and senior staff from NSLA libraries to achieve consensus on priority projects and resource allocation. They also communicate effectively with external stakeholders on behalf of NSLA member libraries.

Reporting to the NSLA Chair, the incumbent oversees a remote team of four, comprising colleagues based in Melbourne, Darwin, Wellington, New Zealand, and ideally situated at NSLA headquarters in Canberra.
