Research Expert in Consumer Energy Resources

This key position has opened for a Research Associate in the School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering (SPREE) to contribute to the transition of Consumer Energy Resources (CER)
About the PositionThis role is part of a team collaborating with industry partners to improve the economic and environmental sustainability of energy markets
Main Responsibilities- Analyze energy data using Python, R, MATLAB or Excel to drive CER development
- Handle and analyze large real-world CER datasets to inform business decisions
- Query and manipulate large datasets from databases and platforms to optimize operations
- Develop algorithms to analyze CER compliance with Australian standards
- Create open-source tools for DNSPs and network operators to manage CER operations effectively
- Develop data visualisations to understand CER value and challenges
- PhD or equivalent research experience; expertise in technical and economic modelling of renewable generation or distributed energy resources
- Expertise in analysis and modelling using large energy-related data sets
- Demonstrated ability for independent research, collaboration and communication with diverse stakeholders
- Track record of publications and experience or interest in developing open-source modelling tools
- Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills
