About this Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our team as a Grade 2 Counsellor/Advocate. This is a permanent role of up to 64 hours per fortnight, offering the opportunity to work with children and young people exhibiting harmful sexual behaviours.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing trauma-informed therapeutic treatment, contributing to the after-hours roster, and working collaboratively with the team to achieve high-quality care. To be successful in this role, you will require sound knowledge and experience in psychosocial assessments, communication skills, and the ability to advocate and work effectively across multiple settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide trauma-informed therapeutic treatment to children and young people exhibiting harmful sexual behaviours
  • Contribute to the after-hours roster and ensure continuity of care
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve high-quality care and outcomes
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Degree in Social Work, with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in counselling, casework and/or case management
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across the CASA target group, particularly children and young people, utilising trauma-informed treatment modalities
