About the Role

St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne is seeking an experienced mental health professional to join our team as an Aged Mental Health Clinician. This is a permanent part-time position, working 2 days a week, with the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including residential care and community programs.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of evidenced-based practice and a commitment to improving the quality of life of older adults. They will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to clients, carers, and care workers, and will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical assessment and care planning for older adults with mental health needs
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with clients, carers, and care workers
  • Provide education and support to carers and care workers on mental health issues affecting older adults
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to mental health care for older adults
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the evaluation of mental health care services for older adults
Requirements
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing or a related field
  • Current Victorian Driver's License
  • Strong understanding of evidenced-based practice and a commitment to improving the quality of life of older adults
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals
