  • Assisting the Health and Safety team at Whitehaven Coal in developing and maintaining systems and programs that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across NSW and QLD.
  • Leading efforts to establish a shared vision and commitment to a health and hygiene program that sets industry standards.
  • Providing subject matter expertise in occupational hygiene principles to inform HSE business planning and evaluate control solutions.
  • Ensuring compliance with dynamic regulatory frameworks through ongoing analysis of lead/lag indicators.
  • Developing and coordinating hygiene sampling and monitoring programs, and implementing improvement strategies.
  • Governance over hygiene monitoring programs and reporting.
  • Building relationships with operations teams to champion best practice hygiene management.
  • Representing Whitehaven Coal at regional regulatory and industry forums on occupational hygiene matters.

Whitehaven Coal is seeking an experienced Lead Occupational Hygienist to join their Health and Safety team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in occupational hygiene and a proven track record of developing and implementing effective hygiene programs.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Occupational Hygiene and certification as a Certified Occupational Hygienist (COH) or equivalent. They will also have knowledge of WHS legislation and statutory requirements in NSW and QLD, as well as experience in developing and leading project and program delivery.
