Risk and Compliance Advisor

About the Role:
AU047 JLT Risk Solutions PTY LTD is seeking a highly skilled Risk and Safety Advisor to join our team in South Australia. As a Risk and Safety Advisor, you will play a critical role in providing expert advice and guidance to Local Government organisations on risk management and safety matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide risk management and safety advice to Local Government organisations, including developing and implementing risk management strategies and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and develop recommendations for mitigation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure effective risk management and safety practices.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Local Government organisations to provide high-quality service and advice.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and effective risk management.
Requirements:
- Sound knowledge of South Australian Work Health & Safety legislation, principles, and practices.
- Experience in risk management and safety, with a strong understanding of risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Knowledge of ISO 31000 and the Performance Standards for Self-Insurers (PSSI).
- Relevant auditing qualification or experience.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications.
- A current SA driver's license.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the Local Government Act 1999 and other relevant Acts.
- Understanding of law as it relates to civil liabilities, contracting, common law, etc.
- Knowledge of the risks within Local Government and the range of occupations/tasks/jobs within Local Government.
