About the Role:
AU047 JLT Risk Solutions PTY LTD is seeking a highly skilled Risk and Safety Advisor to join our team in South Australia. As a Risk and Safety Advisor, you will play a critical role in providing expert advice and guidance to Local Government organisations on risk management and safety practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide risk management and safety advice to Local Government organisations, ensuring compliance with South Australian Work Health & Safety legislation and principles.
- Develop and implement effective risk management systems and strategies to mitigate potential risks and hazards.
- Conduct audits and assessments to identify areas of improvement and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Raise awareness and promote a culture of risk management and safety within Local Government organisations.
Requirements:
- Sound knowledge of South Australian Work Health & Safety legislation, principles, and practices.
- Proven risk management and safety expertise, with experience in developing and implementing risk management systems.
- Knowledge of ISO 31000 and Performance Standards for Self-Insurers (PSSI).
- Relevant auditing qualification or experience.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications.
- A current SA driver's license.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the Local Government Act 1999 and other relevant Acts.
- Understanding of law as it relates to civil liabilities, contracting, common law, etc.
- Knowledge of the risks within Local Government and the range of occupations/tasks/jobs within Local Government.
