Heavy Vehicle Diesel Technician

As a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults with precision.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on Mack and Kenworth Trucks, performing routine maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnosis while ensuring the highest level of quality and safety standards are met.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safe work practices, a commitment to quality, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments, diagnose faults, and repair or replace major engine components, brakes, suspension, steering systems, and other critical components.
  • Perform welding and grinding on chassis and comb rails of flat-top trailers, ensuring precise results every time.
  • Complete auto-electrical work on 12V and 24V systems, troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime.
  • Order and install replacement parts in line with manufacturer specifications and quality standards.
  • Develop and update preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records in line with industry procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a diesel mechanic working on heavy vehicles and trailers.
  • Australian-recognised Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic Trade Qualification.
  • Proven experience working on MACK and Kenworth trucks.
  • Full Australian work rights (no restrictions).
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong understanding of safe work practices.
  • Physically fit and comfortable performing manual tasks.
