Job Details

This role is ideal for a new graduate or someone working towards a librarianship qualification. The successful candidate will provide front-line information services, research support, and handle a range of inquiries.

About the Role

The Library Officer will be responsible for providing comprehensive library services to our users, including research assistance, cataloging and classification, and information literacy training. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide front-line information services, research support, and handle a range of inquiries from students, faculty, and staff.
  • Develop and deliver information literacy training programs for students and staff.
  • Assist with collection development, including selecting and ordering books, journals, and other materials.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of library transactions, collections, and user data.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant degree in Librarianship or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
