Job Summary:
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Program Manager to join our team in the Defence Graduate and Entry Level Programs Directorate.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual who can lead the program delivery function, working under limited direction to perform complex transactional, procedural, operational and administrative work within an integrated workforce.
The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements, and complying with relevant legislative frameworks.
About Our Team:
The Defence Graduate and Entry Level Program Directorate supports organisational workforce capability through the management of Defence's early career recruitment programs.
Our graduate and entry level programs deliver a diverse and skilled talent pool to support critical and emerging workforce demands, and strengthen our people capability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the team to ensure Defence standards, policies and processes are upheld by program participants.
- Working closely with Graduates and Entry Level Pathway participants to support them and facilitate a positive experience while on the program.
- Anticipating and responding to stakeholders' needs and expectations.
- Addressing HR matters and escalating complex issues to the Assistant Director or Director for resolution.
- Planning and facilitating events and workshops-both internally and externally to promote entry level pathways into Defence.
- Gathering and analysing client and stakeholder feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Developing and maintaining a range of program materials, for example manuals and handbooks.
- Identifying opportunities to expand program offerings and supporting your team to enhance the quality of existing programs.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Experience in program and/or project management.
- Ability to provide quality administrative support.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- High-level communication skills, with the ability to contribute to high-level communications.
- Ability to work within established policies and practices to deliver quality outcomes.
- Collaborative approach, with the ability to work with the team to prioritise and manage workloads to meet critical deadlines.
