Therapeutic Support Worker Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Aboriginal professional to join our team in providing therapeutic interventions and culturally responsive support for children aged 10-17 who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering assessment, counselling, and case coordination in partnership with another clinician, promoting collaborative practice and enhancing service delivery.
  • Providing cultural advice and consultation to ensure our service embeds Aboriginal ways of working and cultural safety, fostering a respectful and inclusive environment.
  • Engaging with Aboriginal communities and services to support strong, culturally appropriate care, building on existing relationships and networks.
  • Contributing to service development initiatives that improve cultural responsiveness, driving positive change and growth within the organization.
About Our Team

Our team is comprised of a small group of professionals, including four Aboriginal and six non-Aboriginal team members. We prioritize collective practice and mutual support to achieve the best outcomes for families, leveraging our diverse expertise and perspectives to inform our work.

Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Strong cultural knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal worldviews and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and relationship-building.
  • Ability to provide culturally safe and responsive support, tailoring interventions to meet the unique needs of each individual or family.
  • Capacity to engage with Aboriginal communities and services, fostering trust and cooperation to enhance service delivery.
  • Proficiency in using technology to record and report data, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
