About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead our Business Optimization (BOS) team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business improvement initiatives and ensuring the successful deployment of BOS across our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership to the BOS team, driving business improvement initiatives and ensuring the successful deployment of BOS.
  • Translate business strategy into operational plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Coach and develop team members in the application of BOS principles, practices, and tools, building rapport and providing feedback to support the achievement of BOS transformation.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, using visual representations to engage and motivate the audience.
  • Assess change impacts, prepare integrated change management plans, and manage change readiness and resistance.
  • Identify, engage, and manage diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Plan, track, and manage projects to generate value and drive the achievement of project outcomes.
  • Conduct presentations and facilitate workshops, using storytelling to connect, influence, and engage the audience.
  • Identify, implement, and evaluate the success of continuous improvement activities/initiatives to improve safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of BHP systems and processes.
  • Apply an understanding of the business context, BHP operating model, and ways of working to enhance decision making, productivity, and value chain performance.
Requirements
  • Degree or professional qualification in business or related discipline.
  • Proven leadership capability in a professional environment, including solid interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Demonstrated experience leading system initiatives/projects, ideally in a global environment with high-profile stakeholders.
  • Experience in stakeholder management in large, complex organizations.
  • Exposure to mining is ideal, but experience in other industries that utilize an operating system founded on lean principles would be highly regarded.
  • Understanding/exposure to continuous improvement methodologies and organizational change.
  • Ability to establish credibility as a trusted advisor through strong improvement, leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
