About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Quantum Computing Researcher to contribute to our cutting-edge research efforts and develop expertise in quantum processes and quantum computing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on complex quantum processes, particularly using the process tensor formalism, and leverage practical quantum computing experience.
  • Synthesize complex quantum processes on quantum computers to uncover exotic dynamical phenomena.
  • Co-supervise students and provide guidance in programming on quantum computers.
  • Build and sustain long-term quantum computing and simulation capabilities at Monash University.
Requirements

You will bring:

  • A PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Maths, or Physics.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: complex quantum processes, quantum error corrections, tensor networks, optimisation and machine learning, and developing software infrastructure.
  • Some experience in quantum engineering, quantum computing, and/or quantum information sciences.
  • A deep understanding of quantum algorithms and/or experience with quantum hardware will also be beneficial.
  • A passion for innovation and advancing knowledge at the intersection of complex quantum noise, quantum error correction, and quantum computing.
  • Proven ability to collaborate within research teams and engage in mentoring students.
