The Department of Primary Care & Rural Medicine at Texas A&M University is seeking applications for a full-time Academic Professional Track position. This role offers an 11-month academic appointment and is designed for individuals who are passionate about medical education and family medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct and mentor resident physicians and medical students in the field of family medicine.
  • Oversee outpatient care in obstetrics and pediatrics, as well as adult patient management, including gynecological and geriatric cases.
  • Administer inpatient pediatric and adult services, with available ICU support.
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based healthcare while ensuring the safety of patients and learners.
  • Prepare future family physicians to provide healthcare services to diverse populations.
  • Participate in night and weekend call coverage as needed.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including research and publications, contributing to academic advancement.

Required Qualifications:

  • MD, DO, or equivalent professional degree.
  • Completion of residency training.
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure in Texas.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine by the ABFM or AOBFP.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the following areas is highly desirable:

  • Ability to precept in outpatient obstetrics and pediatrics, as well as adult patient care.
  • Experience managing inpatient pediatric and adult services with ICU support.
