Family Medicine Educator Position

The Department of Primary Care & Rural Medicine at Texas A&M University is seeking applications for a full-time Academic Professional Track position within the Family Medicine Residency Program. This role offers an 11-month academic appointment, and candidates will be evaluated for faculty titles such as Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor based on their qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Educate and mentor resident physicians and medical students in the field of family medicine.
- Supervise outpatient care in obstetrics and pediatrics, including care for newborns and adult patients across various demographics.
- Oversee inpatient pediatric and adult services, ensuring comprehensive care with available specialty backup.
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based medical care while prioritizing patient and learner safety.
- Facilitate training for future family physicians to serve diverse populations effectively.
- Participate in night and weekend call coverage as well as faculty rotation for inpatient hospital services.
- Engage in scholarly activities, including research and publications, contributing to academic growth.

Required Qualifications:
- Possession of an MD, DO, or equivalent professional degree.
- Completion of residency training.
- Current licensure from the Texas Medical Board or eligibility for licensure in Texas.
- Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in one or more of the following areas is advantageous:
- Ability to supervise outpatient care in obstetrics and pediatrics, including care for newborns and adult patients.
- Capability to manage inpatient pediatric and adult services, with access to 24-hour specialty backup.
