The Department of Primary Care & Rural Medicine, DeTar Healthcare System Family Medicine Residency Program, in affiliation with the School of Medicine at Texas A&M University, invites applications for a full-time Academic Professional Track (non-tenure) position with an 11-month academic appointment.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor, depending on qualifications. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and training resident physicians and medical students in family medicine, precepting outpatient obstetrics, pediatrics, and adult patients, and managing inpatient pediatric and adult services with ICU coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and train resident physicians and medical students in family medicine
- Precept outpatient obstetrics, pediatrics, and adult patients
- Manage inpatient pediatric and adult services with ICU coverage
- Provide evidence-based, cost-effective, high-quality care for patients without sacrificing patient or learner safety
- Contribute to scholarly activity, such as publication, education process, research, etc.
Requirements:
- MD, DO, or equivalent professional degree
- Residency training
- Current license from the Texas Medical Board or eligibility for licensure in the state of Texas
- Board certification or board eligibility in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Job experience in one or more of the following areas: precepting outpatient obstetrics, pediatrics, and adult patients; managing inpatient pediatric and adult services with ICU coverage
