Job Description

Casual Academic Learning Advisers are sought to provide tailored tutorial assistance through the Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Program (ITAP). You will mentor Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students on their academic journey, guiding their success across STEPS, undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various disciplines.


Responsibilities

As a Casual Learning Adviser, you will provide personalised academic support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying STEPS, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses across various disciplines. You will mentor students, guide their academic success, and contribute to an inclusive learning environment through ITAP.


Position Requirements
  • A completed qualification at the level at which you are tutoring (e.g., a minimum bachelor's degree to tutor students studying within a Bachelor level course).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and societies, and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
  • Currently hold or be eligible to obtain a Blue Card (Working with Children Positive Notice) to comply with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 for regulated employment in education and care services.
