About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Workshop Fitter to join our team. As a Workshop Fitter, you will play a crucial role in assembling, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of mining and construction equipment to customer specifications.

You will be responsible for:

  • The repair and maintenance of both new and used equipment
  • Ensuring all new machine assembly is completed as scheduled, whilst maintaining the quality of all machines that are assembled
  • Assembling our range of Mining Equipment including Excavators & Haul Trucks
  • Conducting basic failure analysis and identifying specific modes of failure
  • Preparation and testing pre-delivery inspections of new equipment
  • Ensuring all work carried out is performed in a safe manner
  • Completion and submission of all relevant paperwork and reports
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment in line with the company's 5S standards
  • Liaising closely with supervisors and leading hands to ensure that the customer receives exactly what they have ordered and delivery targets are achieved
  • Assisting supervisors with other related duties

Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A strong understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • Relevant Australian mobile plant trade qualifications
  • Previous experience with the assembly, overhaul, repair and servicing of mechanical and hydraulic components on construction and/or mining equipment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive, long term relationships
  • Good communication skills and a dedication to providing quality work
  • Must have Forklift/ dogging/ Rigging and Working at Heights
