Job Overview

Mechanical fitters play a pivotal role in maintaining and repairing large-scale plant machinery. They are responsible for conducting regular inspections, performing routine maintenance tasks, and ensuring that equipment is operating at optimal levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough and accurate inspections of fixed plant assets to identify potential issues
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on large-scale plant machinery and equipment
  • Collaborate with the planning team to optimize plant reliability and efficiency
  • Identify areas for business improvement and drive change through effective problem-solving skills
  • Assist with small capital project work involving commissioning and installation of new equipment
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in hydraulics and fault-finding
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Capacity to carry out complex maintenance tasks with precision and accuracy
  • Previous experience performing maintenance duties within a crushing plant environment
Tickets & Licenses Required:
  • Australian or Australian-recognised mechanical trade qualification
  • Current Manual C Class Driver's License (HR license desirable)
  • HRWL (DG, RB, CN, WP) (highly desirable)
  • Construction Induction Card
  • Working at Heights, Confined Space and Gas Testing (desirable)
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)
  • Ability to meet pre-employment medical and drug screening requirements
