Taxi Equipment Installation Team Lead Role

An exciting opportunity to lead a team of skilled technicians in the assessment, repair, installation and deinstallation of taxi equipment, including MTData dispatch systems, EFTPOS machines, taxi meters, security cameras and other related devices.

This role reports directly to the TAXITECH Manager and is responsible for supervising installation technicians.

About Your Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and mentorship of junior installation technicians to ensure high-quality work and efficient workflow.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the installation bay, ensuring smooth communication with the TAXITECH Manager and other teams.
  • Coordinate the timely repair of taxi equipment, including MTData dispatch systems, EFTPOS machines, taxi meters and security cameras.
  • Perform fault diagnosis, obtain necessary parts and materials for repairs and ensure efficient resolution of technical issues.
  • Assist with diagnosis of vehicle issues related to the MTData dispatch system, camera system and Cabcharge FAREWAY plus system.
  • Remove and apply decals and livery from taxis as required.
  • Interpret manuals and software to identify spare parts and liaise with the TAXITECH Manager for ordering.
  • Ensure shop equipment operates within normal parameters by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns and maintaining supplies.
  • Address operator and driver complaints, conduct inspections, repair engine failures, mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components as necessary.
  • Comply with all documented health and safety policies, procedures, work instructions and verbal instructions issued by the TAXITECH Manager.
  • Maintain efficient work processes and adhere to industry standards.
  • Complete and maintain accurate service and administrative records in compliance with company requirements.

Requirements:

  • Ability to lead a team of technical installation technicians.
  • Technical automotive installation experience.
  • Attention to detail and strong customer service ethic.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
  • Capacity to work with diverse cultures and teams.
