Are you a skilled legal professional looking for a challenging and rewarding role in the insurance industry? We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading medical defence organisation, providing corporate, commercial and financial services legal advice and governance advice.

This role will involve assisting our Senior Legal Counsel with understanding our legal and regulatory obligations and various industry issues that impact the Avant Group and its members and policyholders. You will also be responsible for undertaking reviews of marketing materials, drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, providing insurance product advice and documentation, and supporting litigation efforts.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have tertiary qualifications (LLB or equivalent) and a current NSW legal practitioner practising certificate. You should also have minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in a mid or top-tier firm, with private practice experience in providing commercial legal advice. Previous experience working in an insurance and/or Australian financial services environment is beneficial.
