Lead Substation Design Team

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing design division, working closely with the design partner to deliver substation design engineering up to 500kV.

The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary design team to deliver high-quality technical projects on time.

Liaising with client, internal and external teams, and construction to ensure alignment and integration of design solutions is also essential.

Monitoring and controlling design expenditures using robust tracking systems to optimise budgets and prevent overruns are key skills required for this role.

Ensuring all deliverables meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards through effective QA processes is crucial.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Design Manager similar on major energy infrastructure projects (HV/EHV substations).

Primary design engineering experience, relevant tertiary qualifications, CPEng or working towards it, and membership (or eligibility) with a relevant engineering body are also required.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading a multidisciplinary design team to deliver high-quality technical projects on time

  • Directing primary design, conducting design reviews, and collaborating with external consultants on electrical studies
  • What You'll Bring:
  • Proven experience as a Design Manager similar on major energy infrastructure projects (HV/EHV substations)
  • Primary design engineering experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Bachelor of Engineering)
  • CPEng or working towards it
  • Membership (or eligibility) with a relevant engineering body (e.g. Engineers Australia)
