About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join our Operating Theatres team at Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary health team, you will play a vital role in ensuring optimal outcomes for patients/clients and carers of the service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred care to patients/clients and carers, promoting best practice and appropriate escalation of care.
  • Work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary health team to plan, implement, assess, and evaluate patient care.
  • Act as an advocate for the specific needs of all patients/clients and carers, including those from the indigenous population or other multicultural groups.
  • Maintain and promote a professional standard, adhering to the policies and procedures of the Nursing and Midwifery Service, NBMLHD, and relevant legislation and statutory regulations.
  • Provide support and clinical preceptorship/mentoring to all staff and students.
  • Effectively manage resources relevant to the service.
Requirements
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work.
  • Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide person-centred care.
  • Demonstrated excellent high-level effective communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
  • Demonstrated recent experience and clinical skill in Perioperative Nursing as a registered nurse (including completion of a new graduate RN program or equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse).
