Job Title: Healthcare Security Officer

About the Role:

This casual role will see you provide a high level of security and safety services to hospitals, medical clinics, and other healthcare facilities across Goldfields Region. You will play a vital part in ensuring the wellbeing and protection of patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular patrols to deter and identify potential security threats">
  • Perform security screenings of individuals and their belongings">
  • Collaborate with healthcare personnel to maintain a secure setting">
  • Monitor patients with various mental health concerns">
  • Serve as the first responder to incidents and emergencies">

Selection Criteria:

">

To be successful in this role, you will need:

">
  • Certificate II in Security Operations">
  • A minimum of two years' experience in security or a related field, with proven experience in security operations">
  • Exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication skills, including active listening, conflict resolution, empathy, and de-escalation techniques in high-pressure situations">
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and comprehensive reports">
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team">
  • Experience interacting with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, those with mental health issues, and people with disabilities">

Required Skills and Qualifications:

You will need to possess:

">
  • A valid WA Security Officer licence">
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification">
  • Full working rights in Australia">
  • Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)">
  • Infection Control Training (or willingness to obtain)">
  • Vaccination history or serology evidence of immunity (or willingness to obtain)">
  • Proficiency in self-defence techniques">
  • Demonstrated physical fitness">
  • Understanding of healthcare regulations and patient confidentiality">
  • Excellent communication skills, essential for patient interactions, including proficiency in de-escalation techniques">
